GEMECO’s customers include - Angel Milk, Alaska Milk, 555 Sardines, Argentina Corned Beef, Century Tuna, Ligo Sardines, Purefoods Hormel - San Miguel, Swift, Virginia Foods, and Youngstown.
The Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the general accounting department to ensure timely processing of transactions, accuracy in accounting/ financial reporting and compliance with company and government regulations.- Supervises daily accounting functions which includes but not limited to accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, payroll and taxation.
- Ensures compliance with tax regulations, prepares reports/ audit requirements and actively participates in audits
- Monitors month-end and year-end closing activities and documentations
- Coordinates with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies
- Maintains and provides improvement on internal controls and accounting procedures
- Graduate of Accountancy, CPA is an advantage
- At least 5 years in a supervisory role with extensive knowledge in handling general accounting functions
- Highly proficient in SAP and MS Excel
- Comprehensive understanding of standards on accounting reports, tax laws, and government requirements
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
