Loading Attendant – Sugar Warehouse

The Loading Attendant plays a vital role in supporting outbound logistics operations and maintaining the integrity of warehouse and product quality systems.

1. Loading Operations

• Load sugar and related products into trucks or other transport vehicles according to dispatch instructions.
• Ensure the accurate quantity of goods loaded as per delivery documents (e.g., delivery receipts, gate pass).
• Follow standard operating procedures to avoid product damage, contamination, or spillage during loading.
• Handle sugar products in accordance with food safety, Halal, and GMP requirements.

1. Product Handling, Quality, and Verification

• Assist in checking packaging integrity, labeling, and cleanliness prior to loading.
• Ensure that only authorized, verified, and quality-checked items are loaded out of the warehouse.
• Report discrepancies in quantity, packaging defects, labeling errors, or physical damage to the Warehouse Supervisor or Quality Team.
• Adhere to product segregation rules and proper stacking protocols to avoid cross-contamination and maintain traceability.

1. Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance

• Follow warehouse safety protocols, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Support the maintenance of cleanliness and orderliness of the loading areas, ensuring compliance with GMP and sanitation standards.
• Observe safe and proper stacking, handling, and loading techniques to prevent injuries, accidents, and product loss.
• Participate in toolbox talks and routine safety and quality briefings.

1. Equipment Usage and Basic Maintenance

• Operate loading tools and basic warehouse equipment (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks) as necessary.
• Conduct basic inspection of tools and equipment prior to use and report any malfunction or damage immediately.
• Ensure equipment used for food contact or food-adjacent operations is clean and compliant with sanitation protocols.

1. Documentation and Coordination

• Assist in documentation of loading activities, including signing off dispatch forms, affixing loading logs, and confirming loading accuracy.
• Coordinate with the Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Attendant, Truck Driver, and Quality Inspector to ensure efficient and compliant dispatch.
• Provide immediate feedback on delays, product issues, or loading-related challenges.

1. Support to Inventory and Quality Integrity

• Observe FIFO/FEFO and batch control principles during loading to maintain product traceability and inventory accuracy.
• Ensure that loading activities reflect correct stock movement, avoiding mix-ups or unrecorded dispatch.
• Participate in physical inventory counts and stock reconciliation as required.
• Report any non-conformance that may affect product quality or delivery accuracy.

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting, or any Finance-related course.
• Experience in warehouse operations, logistics support, or quality-sensitive environments is preferred but not required.

• Basic numeracy and reading skills to verify quantities, batch codes, and documentation.
• Physically fit to perform loading tasks and handle materials efficiently and safely.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, especially related to product handling and quality standards.
