Role: Intermediate AU Tax Accountant/Bookkeeper
Work Arrangement: Work from Home
Location: Any CS Branch - Ortigas / Makati / Pampanga / Cebu / Davao / Mabalacat / Angeles (Pampanga)

Schedule: Morning Shift

Job Description:

  • Reviewing client source data (non-Xero) to identify what can be claimed as tax deductions, complete the necessary workpapers (forms) to substantiate the deductions
  • Be able to calculate the capital gain on sale of assets and complete necessary substantiation documents
  • Be able to complete rental property schedules, correctly identifying deductions
  • Understand the requirements for super contributions and which contributions can be deductible and which are not
  • Review client Xero file to ensure it is accurate and complete, that the transactions have been correctly classified in profit and loss and balance sheet and ensure the GST treatment of each transaction is accurate
  • Possess a very high level of knowledge with Xero and Xero payroll and potential payroll issues and how to fix those issues
  • Preparing financial statements and BAS
  • Preparing working papers to substantiate client tax positions, either using Xero workpapers or other excel based workpapers
  • Preparing all types of tax returns, excluding super funds
  • Being confident when communicating with clients
  • Possessing a detailed working knowledge of Australian tax law
  • Liaising with the director to solve issues as they arise
  • Working with the team to achieve optimum outcomes for clients
  • Being able to prepare work within assigned time frames

Qualification and requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of Australian tax law
  • Very high proficiency in Xero software
  • Working knowledge and current experience in the preparation tax returns
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Financial statement preparation

Non-negotiable skills & requirements:

  • Knowledge of Australian tax law: The candidate must possess an excellent working knowledge of Australian tax law.
  • Proficiency in Xero software: The candidate must have a very high level of knowledge with Xero. They must be able to review a file, ensure the accuracy and completeness of client reconciling. Must have a working knowledge of Xero Payroll.
  • Experience with tax returns: The candidate must have Working knowledge and current experience in preparing all types of tax returns, excluding super funds.
  • Communication skills: The candidate must be confident when communicating with clients, the director and other team members.
  • Financial statement preparation: The candidate must have experience in preparing financial statements and Business Activity Statements (BAS).
  • Workpaper preparation: The candidate must be able to use various methods of workpapers to support the financial statements and tax return preparation.
