Senior Full Stack Developer (Django + React Native / Expo)

Our client is building a cutting-edge fintech product and is looking for a highly self-driven Full Stack Developer with deep expertise in Django and React Native (Expo). You’ll join a compact, fast-paced team developing complex, high-performance systems with real financial impact.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-autonomy environments, embraces ownership, and delivers without needing detailed specs or close supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Leading end-to-end development of core features using Django (backend) and React Native with Expo (frontend).
• Designing and building secure, scalable, modular systems for financial services.
• Working closely with product, design, and engineering leaders to deliver features quickly and effectively.
• Making sound architectural decisions with an eye on performance, maintainability, and security.
• Writing clean, well-tested, well-documented code and maintaining high standards during code reviews.
• Operating independently in a results-driven, low-oversight environment and you’ll fully own your time and deliverables.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience across multiple domains.
• Strong expertise with Django, including Django REST Framework, Celery, and PostgreSQL.
• Solid experience building mobile apps with React Native and Expo.
• Proficient with RESTful APIs, authentication flows, and state management on mobile platforms.
• Familiar with CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment best practices.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, system design, and performance optimization.
• Highly autonomous: you take initiative, solve problems proactively, and don’t wait for instructions.

• Previous experience in fintech or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with financial APIs (e.g., Stripe, Plaid, GoCardless, TrueLayer).
• Experience with Firebase, background processing, or push notification systems.
• Knowledge of secure coding and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
