Job Title: IFM Multiskilled Technician (Integrated Facilities Management)Job Overview:
The IFM Multiskilled Technician will play a crucial role in providing technical support and executing various maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trades within integrated facilities management. This role involves working closely with the facilities management team to ensure that the facilities are maintained at optimal operational standards.The Multiskilled Technician will demonstrate hands-on expertise in areas such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and inspections on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in accordance with schedules and manufacturer guidelines.
- Respond to and resolve maintenance requests and breakdowns promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimum disruption to facility operations.
- Conduct troubleshooting, diagnostic tests, and repairs on various systems and equipment, including electrical panels, motors, pumps, plumbing fixtures, HVAC units, and building automation systems.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on structural components, doors, windows, and other building elements as needed.
- Collaborate with external contractors and suppliers, ensuring their adherence to quality and safety standards while addressing maintenance and repair requirements.
- Adhere to relevant safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and warranties.
- Monitor and optimize energy usage within the facility, identifying opportunities for energy conservation and efficiency improvements.
- Assist in developing and implementing maintenance schedules, operating procedures, and guidelines to enhance overall facility performance.
- Participate in facility inspections and audits, reporting any deficiencies and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in integrated facilities management to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with the facilities management team, providing input on maintenance planning, resource allocation, and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or technical training in a relevant trade is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in multiple trades, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repair of various systems and equipment, including electrical panels, motors, pumps, plumbing fixtures, HVAC units, and building automation systems.
- Familiarity with relevant safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and address maintenance issues effectively.
- Excellent technical and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work on-call or during non-standard hours as needed.
