The Sales Cashier Staff is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing sales transactions, and maintaining a positive and efficient checkout experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle cash and electronic payments.
Specific Functions:I. COUNTER SALES
Greet the customer upon arrival
Ask him/her what he/she needs and if there is a particular brand he/she wantsUpsell the selling of products, mention other products such as (vitamins & minerals, conditioning products, maintenance products, deworming and others)
Get his/her order and fill in Manual Receipt
Ask the counter helper to prepare the goods
Receive cash payments from customers
Proceed to check out at the cashier
Checking the receipt
Recap the order of the customer and double check the goods
Smile and say “Thank you, come again sir/ma’am! Have a nice day!”
II. ENCODER
Encode counter sales
Encode charge sales and tally sales manually
Submitting and declaring the exact total sales of the day
III. INVENTORY
Daily physical count of counter retails store and store 2 stocks
Monthly inventory of counter retail store and store 2 stocks
IV. STORE MAINTENANCE
Displaying products and checking the items to be served
Making sure to follow the First In – First Out (FIFO) Policy
Ensuring that the counter retail store is clean and well maintained
V. STORE OPENING AND MAINTENANCE
Opening roll up of the main store on time
Clean the counter retail store area and switching on/off the lights, computer, fan, and television
Ensure that all products are ready on display for store opening
Prepare change fund
Prepare petty cash fund
Prepare cash receipt for the day
Checking the shelves and ensure the refrigerator is closed
Keep and maintain company keys in the cashier booth
VI. CASHIERING PROCESS
Write on manual receipt the order of the customer
Check the receipt or product
Entry of order on the POS
Check the customer orders as it appears in the POS
Receive payment or collection from customer
Check ordered goods as it appears in the receipt issued
Suspend the right product with the right price right away
Ensure that the money is not counterfeit
Prepare the right amount of change per customer
VII. POST-CASHIERING PROCESS
Make sure that the POS Sales is tally with the manual sales
Ensure that the cash on hand is tally with the sales of the day
Fill in the DSR and prepare deposit slip
Secure cash to be deposited
Make deposit slip for deposit/pick up
VIII. OTHER DUTIES
Conduct Cash Count at the end of a shift
Posting of collection
Store Closing
Ensure that all stocks are covered, neat and tidy before leaving the branch
Unplug all electric equipment/appliances
Turn off all electric equipment inside
Filing of order slips and vouchers every month
Qualifications/Requirements
At least a High School graduate/College degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or Business is a big advantage but often not required for these roles.Previous experience as a cashier or in retail sales is preferred.
Ability to compute transactions accurately and handle cash/POS systems without errors.
Willingness to learn about different types of feeds, vitamins, and pesticides to answer farmer/customer inquiries.
Friendly and patient, especially when explaining product usage to customers.
High level of honesty in handling money and inventory.
