The Area Manager oversees the daily operations of multiple convenience store locations, ensuring that each store meets operational, financial, and customer service targets. This role is responsible for driving store performance, maintaining operational standards, leading store teams, and supporting new store setups or expansions within the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations Management
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple convenience store locations.
  • Ensure all stores comply with company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards.
  • Monitor store cleanliness, merchandising, product availability, and overall store presentation.
Team Leadership & Performance
  • Manage, coach, and develop Store Managers and their teams.
  • Conduct regular store visits to provide feedback, performance evaluations, and support.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels, proper training, and adherence to customer service standards.
Financial Management
  • Review and analyze store performance indicators (sales, margins, shrinkage, labor costs).
  • Identify opportunities to increase profitability and reduce operational costs.
  • Support stores in meeting sales targets and achieving KPIs.
  • Inventory & Merchandising
  • Oversee inventory control, stock rotation, and loss prevention measures across all stores.
  • Ensure proper merchandising standards, planogram execution, and promotional setups.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams for timely product replenishment.
New Store Setup & Expansion
  • Support the opening of new convenience store locations, including planning, staffing, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure proper execution of store layouts, equipment installation, and merchandising plans.
  • Train new store teams on operational procedures and store standard
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Retail Management, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of multi-unit retail management experience, preferably in convenience stores, quick-service restaurants, or fast-paced retail environments.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth, controlling costs, and achieving KPIs across multiple locations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience coaching Store Managers and building high-performing teams.
