The Company:
An established third-generation construction company, known for its excellence in delivering premium commercial and residential developments, underpinned by superior workmanship and attention to detail. They are seeking an experienced, independent, and detail-oriented, Concrete Structure Estimator to join the team.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates and tender submissions for a range of concrete construction projects, including commercial, industrial, civil, and multi-level residential structures.
The successful candidate will play a key role in securing new work by analysing project documentation, assessing costs, identifying risks, and developing competitive pricing strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs for concrete structures, reinforcement, formwork, post-tensioning, and associated works.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to develop pricing strategies.
- Maintain estimating databases, cost histories, and benchmarking information.
- Review and comment on Scope of Works.
- Assist with contract negotiations and handover to project delivery teams upon award.
- Minimum 3 years experience as an Estimator within concrete construction, structural concrete, civil construction, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of concrete structures, reinforcement, formwork systems, and construction methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
- Experience preparing tenders ranging from small projects to large-scale developments.
- Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, Planswift, CostX) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Minimum proficiency required in at least one of the following estimating software: Bluebeam, Planswift, or CostX.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet strict deadlines.
- Previous experience with international clients an advantage.
- Knowledge in Australian construction standards, codes, and regulations an advantage but not required.
- Qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- A construction-related degree is required for this position.
- Experience with cost planning, procurement, and project budgeting.
- Understanding of concrete production and placement methodologies.
