Job Summary:

The Business Continuity Planning & Disaster Recovery Management Manager is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide business continuity and disaster recovery programs. This role involves conducting business impact analyses, developing recovery strategies, coordinating testing, ensuring compliance, and providing training to ensure the organization can effectively respond to and recover from disruptive events.

The Manager will also act as a key member of the crisis management team and continuously improve the BCP/DR framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise-wide BCP and DR programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) to identify critical business processes, assess potential financial and operational impacts, and determine recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs).
  • Perform risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities that could disrupt business operations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive recovery strategies and plans for business units and IT systems, including detailed procedures and resource requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, security, and compliance, to ensure alignment of BCP/DR plans with business objectives and effective communication during incidents.
  • Coordinate and lead regular BCP/DR testing, including tabletop exercises, functional testing, and full-scale simulations, to validate the effectiveness of recovery plans and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to business continuity and disaster recovery (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST).
  • Maintain thorough documentation and reporting for audits, regulators, and internal stakeholders, including BCP/DR plans, test results, and risk assessments.
  • Develop and deliver training and awareness programs for employees on BCP/DR procedures and their roles in incident response and recovery.
  • Act as a key member of the crisis management team during incidents, providing guidance and support to ensure effective communication, decision-making, and execution of recovery plans.
  • Continuously improve the BCP/DR framework based on lessons learned from testing, incidents, and evolving risks, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers involved in BCP/DR activities, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and that vendor plans align with organizational requirements.
  • Develop and manage the BCP/DR budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support program objectives.
  • Publish monthly/quarterly status reports to the leadership team, providing updates on BCP/DR activities, risks, and program effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain a BCP/DR communication plan to ensure timely and effective dissemination of information during incidents.
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends and emerging threats to proactively identify potential impacts on the organization's business operations and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and security principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST).
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
  • Experience in crisis management and incident response.
  • Meticulous documentation skills for maintaining accurate and up-to-date BCP/DR plans and records.
  • Skills in developing and managing budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Information Technology, Risk Management, engineering).
  • Professional certification in business continuity or disaster recovery (e.g., CBCP, MBCP, DRII).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery management, or risk management in the BPO industry.
  • Experience in conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and risk assessments.
  • Experience in developing and testing BCP/DR plans for various business units and IT systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Experience in managing BCP/DR programs in a complex organizational environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Experience with cloud-based disaster recovery solutions is a plus.
  • Certification with OSH required minimum of (SO3)
  • Experience starting up a new business in BPO – preferably in BFSI industry a plus
  • Amenable to work or travel in Muntinlupa City, Mandaue City or Cebu City sites
