Senior Accountant AU | Work from Home (Remote)

JOB SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts independently in a remote work environment.

1. Financial Reporting and Compliance

• Prepare financial statements for companies, trusts, and partnerships
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns
• Prepare income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies
• Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and taxation regulations
• Assist with preparation of financial reports including cash flow forecasts, budgets, and management reports

1. Australian Taxation and Regulatory Reporting

• Prepare reporting requirements for the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on behalf of clients
• Manage Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting and taxable payments reporting
• Conduct tax research and communicate updates or findings clearly with the team
• Support clients with taxation and compliance-related queries

1. Client Account Management

• Oversee client ledgers and proactively resolve discrepancies and accounting issues
• Provide comprehensive accounting support across various areas of the client’s business operations
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely completion of deliverables
• Build and maintain positive professional relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

1. Collaboration and Operational Support

• Work closely with the partner and manager to deliver timely and accurate accounting services
• Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and workflows
• Perform any other accounting and administrative duties required to support business operations

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in of Australian accounting principles and tax regulations
• Knowledge of GST, BAS, payroll reporting, and ATO compliance requirements
• Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management
• Understanding of public practice accounting processes and client servicing

• Proficiency in Xero accounting software is required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts remotely
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to collaborate professionally within a remote team environment
• Capacity to adapt to changing client requirements and business priorities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial information
