Cost Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cost Accountant is responsible for monitoring and analyzing costs related to production, operations, and other financial activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Establish Cost Centers and Expense Codes for each Department and/or Process Section Expenditures. This includes providing expense definition for each type of Expense Code;
• Develop a Budget OPEX (Operating Expense) Excel Worksheet for each Cost Center;
• Integrate the established Cost Center and Expense Codes into the QNE software;
• Conduct monthly review of actualized expenditures versus budget and provide analysis on expense drivers, budget vs expense accuracy and others;
• Meet with Plant Operations Leadership Team (POLT) every 1st or 2nd week of each month to present Expense Tracking for Previous Month and YTD Expense vs Budget Tracking;
• Provide recommendations to the POLT on how to improve budgeting and expense management;
• Monitor inventory levels, perform cost analysis related to inventory, and reconcile inventory discrepancies;
• Lead the Plant Operations in the conduct of Annual Physical Count activities;
• Identify and create a list of Fixed Asset Equipment, Machineries and Others;
• Develop a CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) Procedure;
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements;
• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation;
• Conduct Accounting Trainings; and
• Ad hoc Tasks

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA or CMA Certification is a plus
• Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role with a focus on cost analysis and control
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
