Automation Engineer – Specialist

About the role
The Automation Engineer – Specialist is responsible for leading and sustaining automation systems and equipment on the production line. This role involves supervising a team of automation engineers/technicians, ensuring smooth operations, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining system reliability.
What you'll be doing- Develop and implement advanced automation solutions, including PLC programming, HMI design, and SCADA system integration
- Lead daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automation systems and production line equipment.
- Ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency of automated machines and robotics.
- Establish preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to sustain equipment performance.
- Design and deploy robotic and other advanced automation technologies to enhance productivity and quality
- Supervise, guide, and mentor a team of automation engineers/technicians.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to engineering standards and company policies.
- Conduct technical training and skill development for team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automation Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
- Proven expertise in PLC programming, HMI design, and SCADA system integration
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with robot programming and integration, as well as experience with advanced automation technologies
- Proficient in using engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Rockwell Studio, and Siemens TIA Portal
- Adaptable to changes and willing to learn new technologies and techniques
