The Assistant Controller is responsible in leading accounting, audit, and financial reporting operations within the Business Office, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Leads daily accounting operations, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversees the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Manages audit processes, coordinating with auditors and preparing necessary documentation.
- Partners with leadership and cross-functional teams to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Mentors accounting staff, managing performance and delegating tasks to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience working in a U.S. based organization or environment.
- Experience working in a prominent CPA firm conducting compilation of financial statements, auditing or tax analysis and reporting.
- Experience in accounting systems or ERP platforms (e.g., Banner, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft).
- Experience in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
