The Applications and Systems Solutions Architect is responsible for designing practical, end-user-focused technology solutions that combine applications, systems, platforms, integrations, and supporting services into a coherent delivery approach.

The role requires translating end-user requirements into technically sound, commercially viable, and implementable solutions that align with end-user’s requirements, roadmap and contractual commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  1. End-user Discovery and Requirements Analysis
  • Engage with prospective and existing end-users to understand business objectives, operational processes, technology landscape, pain points, constraints, and success criteria.
  • Uncover underlying requirements through effective scoping activities.
  • Translate end-user requirements into solution scope, technical assumptions, dependencies, risks, and implementation considerations.
  • Assess end-user systems, applications, data flows, integrations, infrastructure dependencies, security requirements, and support expectations.
  • Clarify functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, availability, compliance, usability, maintainability, and service levels.
  • Identify gaps between end-user needs and available LTD capabilities, and recommend practical options, workarounds, phased approaches, or product enhancements where appropriate.
  1. Solution Design and Technical Architecture
  • Design end-to-end end-user solutions that integrate LTD applications, end-user systems, third-party platforms, data sources, infrastructure services, and operational support processes.
  • Prepare solution architecture views, system context diagrams, application interaction models, integration designs, deployment options, and environment recommendations.
  • Ensure proposed solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, supportable, commercially realistic, and aligned with LTD’s delivery standards.
  • Define solution components, responsibilities, assumptions, exclusions, dependencies, technical boundaries, and transition points between LTD and end-user teams.
  • Recommend solution patterns that balance end-user expectations, implementation effort, product capability, delivery risk, and total cost of ownership.
  1. Pre-Sales and Proposal Support
  • Support sales teams in qualifying opportunities, shaping solution strategy, and positioning capabilities against end-user requirements.
  • Contribute to proposals, requests for information, requests for proposal, statements of work, solution estimates, technical responses, and implementation approaches.
  • Prepare and present solution overviews, architecture walkthroughs, demonstrations, proof-of-concept plans, and technical value propositions to end-users.
  • Provide technical input to commercial discussions, including effort estimates, solution options, delivery assumptions, licensing implications, and support considerations.
  • Help identify technical differentiators, delivery risks, and win themes that strengthen LTD’s proposal and end-user confidence.
  1. Applications and Systems Architecture
  • Design application solutions that support end-user business processes, user journeys, workflow requirements, reporting needs, data requirements, and operational controls.
  • Define how LTD applications will interact with end-user systems, identity services, databases, integration layers, reporting tools, and operational platforms.
  • Review application configuration, customization, extension, and integration approaches to ensure they remain sustainable and supportable.
  • Assess system dependencies such as hosting environments, middleware, networks, security controls, monitoring, backup, recovery, and service continuity.
  • Guide end-users and delivery teams on modernization, migration, coexistence, cutover, and transition strategies where legacy systems are involved.
  1. Integration, Data, and Interoperability
  • Define integration approaches between LTD solutions, end-user systems, partner platforms, and third-party services using approved methods such as APIs, middleware, batch interfaces, event messaging, or data exchange mechanisms.
  • Specify interface requirements, data mapping considerations, security controls, error handling, logging, monitoring, reconciliation, and operational support needs.
  • Work with end-user technical teams to validate connectivity, identity, access, data ownership, data quality, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify integration risks early and recommend mitigation actions, alternative designs, phased delivery options, or proof-of-concept validation.
  1. Delivery Alignment and Implementation Support
  • Provide technical leadership and architecture guidance during project initiation, design, build, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and transition to production.
  • Ensure implementation teams understand the approved solution design, assumptions, dependencies, technical constraints, and end-user commitments.
  • Review key delivery artifacts, including technical designs, configuration specifications, interface documents, migration plans, test strategies, deployment plans, and operational readiness materials.
  • Support issue resolution for complex design questions, scope clarifications, integration challenges, environment constraints, and end-user escalations.
  • Manage architectural change control by assessing the impact of design changes on cost, timeline, risk, supportability, and contractual commitments.
  1. End-user Advisory and Stakeholder Management
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to end-users by explaining solution options, trade-offs, risks, constraints, and recommended approaches in clear business and technical terms.
  • Facilitate workshops with end-user business users, technical teams, security teams, operations teams, and decision-makers.
  • Coordinate with internal sales, delivery, product, engineering, support, legal, and commercial teams to ensure solution commitments are realistic and achievable.
  • Build end-user confidence by demonstrating knowledge of applications, systems, integrations, implementation practices, service operations, and LTD capabilities.
  • Support account growth by identifying follow-on opportunities, enhancement needs, platform expansion, and solution optimization areas.
  1. Governance, Risk, and Quality Assurance
  • Ensure solution designs follow LTD architecture standards, security practices, implementation methods, support models, and quality expectations.
  • Document architecture decisions, assumptions, risks, dependencies, exclusions, and end-user responsibilities clearly and consistently.
  • Participate in internal solution reviews, proposal reviews, design governance forums, project checkpoints, and delivery readiness assessments.
  • Identify technical debt, delivery risk, product limitations, integration complexity, and operational gaps before they affect end-user outcomes.
  • Promote reusable templates, reference architectures, lessons learned, and best practices across end-user engagements.

  • Interface specifications, data mapping guidance, migration considerations, and environment requirements
  • Risk registers, architecture decision records, issue impact assessments, and mitigation recommendations
  • Operational readiness inputs, support transition notes, and handover materials
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Strong experience in solution architecture, application architecture, systems integration, software implementation, and technical consulting.
  • Experience in pre-sales, consulting, implementation, managed services, systems integration, and/or professional services environments.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise applications, business systems, APIs, integration patterns, databases, identity and access management, cloud or hosted environments, security, and operational support models.
  • Ability to prepare solution designs, proposal inputs, technical estimates, implementation assumptions, and delivery documentation.
  • Relevant industry certifications are advantageous.
  • Understanding of responsible AI principles, including governance, privacy, security, compliance, and ethical AI practices.
