About the role
Airmix Enterprise Construction Incorporated is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Officer to join our team in Commonwealth, Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in protecting our workforce and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations across our construction operations.As a Safety Officer, you will be instrumental in fostering a safety-first culture throughout our organisation and maintaining our commitment to zero-harm workplace practices. Your strategic oversight will directly contribute to the success and reputation of Airmix Enterprise Construction Incorporated as an industry leader in construction safety excellence.
Key responsibilities- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and unsafe work practices
- Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures and guidelines tailored to construction environments
- Provide safety induction and training programmes to all employees, contractors and site visitors to ensure awareness of safety protocols
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective and preventative measures
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards including building codes and occupational safety requirements
- Maintain accurate safety records, statistics and documentation required for regulatory reporting and internal audits
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors and safety committees to promote a positive safety culture
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings to reinforce safe work practices and communicate emerging safety concerns
- Recommend and oversee the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment on site
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies, insurance providers and health and safety consultants as required
- COSH-certified (40-hour Construction Occupational Safety and Health training)
- Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience as a Safety Officer within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, building codes and construction safety standards applicable in the Philippines
- Excellent understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to communicate safety requirements clearly to diverse audiences including site workers, management and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in safety management systems and incident reporting software
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgements whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Physical capability to conduct regular site inspections and work in construction environments
- Professional certification from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) or equivalent credentials
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal; proficiency in Tagalog is advantageous
