ThePower BI & Data Analytics Specialistis responsible for developing automated reports and dashboards, enabling teams to access critical business insights for data-driven decision-making. The role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to optimize reporting processes, ensuring seamless data integration, and enhancing data visualization techniques.
A key priority of this role is delivering on the Commercial Finance Team's 2025 functional plan to automate and optimise systems. This role reports into the Head of Commercial Finance Australia & International and works closely with all Australian and New Zealand commercial finance team members and Information Systems team.
This role participates in design / requirements workshops to be held face to face in New Zealand, project managing the ideation to implementation for an agreed schedule of reporting automations and optimisations and works closely with key business stakeholders and Commercial Finance Team members to contemporise reporting requirements and translate them into effective visual solutions.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Stakeholder engagement
Work closely with key business stakeholders and Commercial Finance Team members to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective visual solutions
Provide Training
Demonstrates a proactive approach to exploring new ideas and seeking innovative solutions
Regularly asks insightful questions and demonstrates collaboration in team workshops
Provide training and support to users to ensure dashboards are effectively utilised and achieve positive user feedback on quality of training
Dashboard and Report Development
Real time or scheduled data refreshes to update dashboards with the latest data at real time, hourly, daily or other intervals
Designs and maintains best in class dashboards that are high impact, intuitive and user friendly
Utilise Power Automate or macros to automate recurring reports
Minor manual effort in updating reports and dashboards
Accuracy
Develop and maintain automated alerts and exception reports to notify key stakeholders
Data integration and Optimisation
Connect multiple data sources (if required) to reports and dashboards to ensure seamless integration
Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes
Data validation and error handling checks before integration
Use indexed tables to optimise queries to improve speed
Apply aggregation techniques to pre calculate summary data reducing computational loads
Enable data caching
Data Quality
Ensure data integrity, security and compliance with best practices
Maintain proper documentation of data sources, transformations and reporting logic

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science or Analytics, Information Systems, Business Intelligence or a related field.
Certification in Power BI or related analytics tools
Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud for data storage and processing
Proficiency in BI reporting, dashboard development and data analysis
Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and data modelling
Strong understanding of data visualisation best practices and tools e.g. Tableau, Looker, etc.
Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, querying and manipulation
Experience in IBM PA or TM1 is required.
Experience in ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts
Ability to integrate multiple data sources (IBM PA, APIs etc)
Experience with automation tools (e.g. Power Automate)
Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Pivot, and advanced formulas.
Experience working with an Australian business
Proficient in English (written and oral)
Experience in FMCG, food and beverage or health and wellbeing industry
Competency in PowerPoint
Navision computer literacy (or other ERP system)
Experience working in an agile or fast-paced environment.
