ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Generally accountable for sourcing, negotiation of buying price, and evaluation of vendors and contracts
• Ensures 100% service level and compliance of vendors to agreed product specifications
• Must consistently review existing goods and vendor performance to maintain; research new items for best price and vendors
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
• Responsible for timing of delivery and inventory management
• Able to report commodity trends and purchasing plans to management

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive level understanding of assigned commodities and understanding of market trends
• Solid negotiation, process and contract administration skills, including the ability to effectively manage program cost requirements and relationships with suppliers in order to support company goals
• Must possess strong problem solving skills, written and verbal communication skills in order to interact with internal and external partners
• Advance organization skills are required in order to handle multiple tasks
• Relies on extensive experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Merchandising experience is an advantage
