Production Planning Designer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced 3D Furniture Design Specialist to produce detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and production-ready plans for custom furniture, cabinetry, and metalwork projects. This role is centered on translating design concepts into precise, manufacturable deliverables that carpenters and furniture manufacturers can execute with accuracy and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed 3D models and accurate technical drawings for furniture and cabinet designs
• Develop production-ready plans that are specifically optimized for real-world manufacturing requirements
• Work across a variety of furniture projects spanning both woodwork and metalwork applications
• Deliver precise, high-quality designs that meet all production specifications and manufacturing tolerances
• Ensure every design is practical, buildable, and structured for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing
• Collaborate effectively with remote teams to deliver completed projects on time and to brief

Mandatory Requirements:

• Proven experience in furniture design and production planning — must be demonstrated through a portfolio
• A strong portfolio showcasing completed furniture design and manufacturing projects — required
• Proficiency in professional 3D design software such as Rhino, SolidWorks, or comparable modeling tools — required
• Solid understanding of furniture manufacturing processes and production planning principles
• Background in engineering, product design, or industrial design is strongly preferred
• This role is not suitable for architects without direct production or manufacturing experience
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Rhino software — highly preferred
• Experience with SolidWorks
• Working knowledge of carpentry processes and furniture manufacturing workflows
• Background in product engineering or industrial design
• Direct hands-on experience with furniture production planning in a real manufacturing context
