The Solar Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and solar-powered appliances. The role ensures that all solar installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, industry regulations, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Commissioning
  • Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, charge controllers, mounting structures, and associated electrical components.
  • Install and configure solar-powered appliances and equipment.
  • Conduct system testing and commissioning to ensure proper functionality and performance.
  • Ensure installations comply with Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), local regulations, and company standards.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of solar systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system-related issues.
  • Repair or replace defective components as necessary.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and customer concerns.
Technical Support
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers regarding system operation and maintenance.
  • Conduct site assessments and recommend appropriate solar solutions.
  • Prepare service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow occupational health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Inventory & Asset Management
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and materials.
  • Report equipment shortages, defects, or replacement requirements.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of solar components and equipment.

Job Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Technology, Industrial Technology, or any related technical/vocational course. TESDA certification in Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) is an advantage.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in solar installation, electrical works, or related technical field.
  • Experience in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems is preferred.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant training may be considered.
  • Knowledge of solar PV systems and renewable energy technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with electrical tools, testing equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices and standards.
  • Can do FABRICATE.
  • Physically fit and capable of working at heights and in outdoor environments.
  • Willing to travel and perform fieldwork.
  • Possesses strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • With valid driver's license.
