General Accounting & Financial Reporting Officer (Remote)

What you'll do:
As a Management Accountant, you will play an integral role in ensuring robust financial management within a rapidly growing international business. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with the Head of Finance to deliver accurate monthly reporting, perform reconciliations, analyse financial data, and support both routine operations and strategic projects.You will be responsible for managing supplier payments, preparing key financial documents, assisting with audits, and driving process enhancements that improve efficiency across the finance function.
- Complete bank reconciliations, post receipts, process all aspects of purchase ledgers, manage accounts payable ageing, and reconcile supplier accounts with meticulous attention to detail.
- Oversee supplier payments and ensure timely completion of month-end routines and reports in line with agreed reporting timelines.
- Assist in preparing management accounts including credit control, balance sheet and account reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journal postings, and detailed analyses of overheads.
- Support the preparation of financial trackers and performance reports to provide accurate insights into business operations.
- Ensure statutory returns such as VIES and VAT are completed accurately and on time while maintaining up-to-date contractual information on shared drives.
- Collaborate with the Head of Finance on annual budgets and forecast updates, providing ad-hoc analysis on performance and variances to budget as required.
- Contribute to finance change projects across the organisation by supporting process improvements and compliance initiatives.
- Assist external accounting firms with audit and tax compliance matters to ensure regulatory standards are met efficiently.
- Maintain quality standards for finance across the group by resolving issues promptly in collaboration with team members.
- Participate in training sessions as needed and uphold your professional accounting qualification through ongoing learning.
What you bring:
To excel as a Management Accountant in this role, your background should include proven experience managing core accounting functions such as payables, receivables, reconciliations, and month-end processes within dynamic environments.- A minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in Accounting & Finance roles within a B2B or high-growth environment
- Demonstrated expertise in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Experience operating within global organisations provides valuable context for handling cross-border transactions and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with month-end close procedures is highly advantageous for delivering timely financial reports.
- Proficiency using Xero accounting software is regarded favourably but not mandatory; adaptability to new systems is important.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- A strong understanding of reconciliations across Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts
- Ability to review VAT transactions for correct treatment in global invoicing scenarios
- Advanced IT skills-particularly proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including lookups, pivots, formulas)
