- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience (perioperative, ambulatory care, or acute care preferred)
- Current, unrestricted Philippine Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, chronic disease management, and preoperative risk factors
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical record systems
- Clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Leadership, supervision, and staff development
- Strong communication and patient-education abilities
- Ability to interpret clinical data and determine appropriate actions
- Team collaboration and workflow coordination
- Commitment to patient safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
- Professionalism, discretion, and strict adherence to HIPAA
Your Daily Tasks
Clinical Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments via phone or electronic review, including medical history, medications, allergies, and current symptoms
- Evaluate patient stability and clinical risk factors using nursing judgment and established protocols
- Review specialist clearances, consult notes, and diagnostic results to confirm surgical readiness
- Escalate clinical concerns to anesthesia providers or leadership as needed
- Provide clear patient education on pre-operative instructions, medication management, and surgery-day expectations
- Document all assessments, interventions, and communications accurately in the EMR
- Oversee daily operations of the pre-admission screening team
- Supervise and support Pre-Admission Screening Specialists with clinical guidance
- Train new staff on screening protocols, workflows, and department standards
- Monitor team performance for accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to clinical requirements
- Participate in scheduling, workload distribution, and workflow optimization
- Lead quality assurance initiatives and performance improvement efforts
- Serve as the primary clinical resource for complex or high-risk cases
- Coordinate with surgeons' offices, anesthesia teams, primary care providers, and specialists to obtain required evaluations
- Communicate effectively with perioperative staff to ensure smooth care transitions
- Support multidisciplinary initiatives aimed at reducing surgery-day delays or cancellations
