Record to Report Director

We are seeking an experienced and strategic finance leader for the role of Associate Director – Record to Report (RTR). This role is responsible for providing overall leadership and governance of the end-to-end RTR function, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and control activities across the organization.

The Associate Director will drive operational excellence, lead finance transformation initiatives, strengthen internal controls, and partner closely with global business and finance leaders to support organizational objectives. This individual will oversee a team of Senior Managers, Managers, and accounting professionals, fostering a high-performance culture while driving continuous improvement, standardization, and automation across RTR processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the end-to-end Record to Report function, ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee period-end close activities, ensuring adherence to established timelines, accounting policies, and quality standards.
  • Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial reporting packages in compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, or local GAAP requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, tax requirements, internal controls, and regulatory standards, including SOX where applicable.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex accounting matters, technical accounting guidance, and financial reporting issues.
  • Partner with regional and global finance leaders to align RTR operations with business priorities and organizational strategy.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives, including process standardization, automation, ERP optimization, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Champion governance, risk management, and a strong control environment across all RTR activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, external auditors, regulatory bodies, and cross-functional business partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Senior Managers, Managers, and accounting teams, building leadership capability, succession planning, and employee engagement.
  • Drive operational excellence through performance metrics, service delivery improvements, and best practices across shared services.
  • Sponsor finance projects, ERP implementations, and organizational change initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Review financial results, balance sheet reconciliations, and key performance indicators to ensure financial integrity and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience within multinational organizations, shared services, or Big 4 firms, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing multiple teams or functions.
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end RTR operations within a global shared services or multinational environment.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS, US GAAP, or local GAAP, with experience in statutory reporting and financial controls.
  • Demonstrated success leading finance transformation, process optimization, automation, and ERP implementation initiatives.
  • Extensive experience with SAP or other enterprise ERP platforms.
Strong executive presence with excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership and drive decisions across cross-functional and global teams.
  • Strong people leadership experience with a track record of developing high-performing leaders and building organizational capability.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance operational execution and long-term business objectives.
  • Experience working across global teams and different time zones, with willingness to travel as business needs require.
