Purchasing Supervisor

This role will ensure that the department is properly resourced, that vendors are properly managed, and that all purchasing activities are compliant with company policies and procedures. The Purchasing Supervisor will also be responsible for developing and monitoring purchasing strategies and policies, ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services, and maintaining accurate records of all purchases.
Additionally, this role will provide guidance and training to staff and ensure the efficient and timely completion of purchases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of purchasing personnel.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors and suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure just-in-time purchasing where applicable.
- Analyze market trends to identify new sources of supply and cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare and maintain purchasing records, reports, and price lists.
- Collaborate with internal departments to forecast needs and avoid supply disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Train and mentor junior buyers and purchasing staff.
