Your work follows a disciplined approach to supplier liaison, market price collation, and the identification of hard-to-find parts across both local and international markets.
This is not a generalist purchasing role. You operate within the heavy earthmoving and mining equipment sector, where technical understanding of brands and parts is critical to maintaining 50% target margins. Best suited for procurement professionals who enjoy "the hunt" for rare components and thrive in high-accountability, direct-reporting structures.
You're Likely a Strong Fit If You Have- Proven experience in procurement or administrative roles, with a distinct preference for backgrounds in the mechanical, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.
- Technical aptitude—you understand parts, brands, and industry-specific requirements; we value industry knowledge over generic procurement experience.
- Strong supplier management skills, with the ability to negotiate and liaise with multiple vendors to secure the best possible margins.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and email, with a high level of organizational discipline to manage multiple quotes and purchase orders simultaneously.
- Willingness to work a 6:30 AM–3:30 PM schedule and maintain a reliable home office setup.
- Experience sourcing parts for mining or civil earthmoving machinery.
- Background in quoting for engine or component rebuilds.
- Previous experience dealing with international suppliers for hard-to-find mechanical parts.
Responsibility Pillars
Sourcing & Margin Optimization. You own the sourcing strategy—finding the best possible price points for engine rebuilds while maintaining strict margin targets.- Source parts and materials for rebuilds, focusing on margin maximization (target 50%).
- Search for hard-to-find parts across local and international supplier networks.
- Collate pricing and supplier data to compile comprehensive quotes.
- Liaise with approved and potential suppliers to ensure a steady flow of materials.
- Prepare and submit purchase orders and handle administrative purchasing tasks.
- Streamline systems and assist with project-based jobs to improve procurement efficiency.
