Your impact
As a Professional Architect, you will be an integral member of the design team, counted on to perform a significant portion of architecture and design for our projects. You will need strong communication and interpersonal skills as you work closely with your Architecture Leads, other Architects, Architecture Designers/modelers, and other disciplines.
It is expected that you have a solid foundation in the fundamentals of architecture design, knowledge of multiple subject areas, experience with specific codes applicable to building design and life safety, understand how architecture design integrates with and impacts other disciplines.
This position will require you to serve as a Lead Architect for small projects, or as a Sub-Lead for larger projects. Works independently, acts as a Lead, collaborate with team of designers and engineers to complete all architecture design activities.You will be given as much responsibility as you are willing to take, and your opportunities for career growth will be limited only by your own motivation, capabilities, and attitude.
Here's what you'll need- Professional architecture license.
- 15+ years of experience required.
- Leadership experience in motivating, coordinating, and guiding small to medium size architecture teams.
- Self-starter personality with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Experience delivering projects from concept through detailed design.
- Working knowledge of building codes and specifications.
- History of developing and monitoring financial and project delivery schedules.
- Established practice of managing and ensuring project quality, and providing ideas and suggestions aimed at improving the effectiveness of project activities.
- Excellent client focus.
- Experience in Revit
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point programs.
Under general supervision, competently perform all conventional aspects of Architecture design:
- Responsible for the preparation and 2D/3D modeling of design architecture.
- Works with defined processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments.
- Works with a limited degree of supervision with oversight focused only on complex new assignments.
- Likely to act as an informal resource for associates with less experience.
- Is proficient in 3D modeling using Revit with specific experience in steel and concrete structures.
- Creates Revit families and fully utilizes the live functions available on the platform to maintain intelligent designs.
- Creates conceptual structural models based on verbal direction or rough sketches from engineers or other designers.
- Incorporates standard notes and can produce details for use in the construction documents.

- Committed to checking your own work, reaching out to peers and seniors for guidance when questions arise.
- Perform checking of other Architects’ work.
Take responsibility for managing workload, make and keep commitments, and take full ownership of assigned work:
- You may be given tasks with ill-defined conditions of satisfaction; in which case you will be expected to take the initiative to determine what is needed to meet the project and client needs.
- Clearly define your own scope and develop your ability to forecast level of effort needed to complete that scope.
- Be ready to identify scope change and escalate it to your Lead Architect or Project Manager.
- Recognize when help is needed, reaching out to peers and seniors for guidance.
- Work in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner with strong attention to detail.
Developing Leadership Skills:
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and/or mentorship to designers/drafters and less experienced architects.
- Be proactive in advancing workflows, systems, and tools within the architecture discipline.
- Be ready to embrace and learn emerging technologies.
As a Lead Architect for an Assigned Project:
- Serves as Architecture Lead to develop and provide specifications for design requirements and related life safety needs.
- Fully understand all Architecture scopes, recognize how that scope is both generated and impacted by other disciplines, and identify scope change.
- Take ultimate responsibility for all aspects of the deliverables, drawings, schedules, specifications and all construction documents.
- Develop and manage schedule, budget, and staffing forecasts for the architecture scope.
- Attend project meetings and take an active role to help team resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines.
- Participate in and champion internal, cross-discipline, and external project quality reviews.
- Technically evaluate building material bidder's lists; assist inspection in evaluating manufacturing and fabrication facilities.
