The Materials Engineer play a crucial role in ensuring the acquisition of quality materials and services at competitive prices while adhering to project timelines, company policies, and ethical procurement practices.

Responsibilities:

• Sourcing and Procurement for Real Estate Projects:
• Research and identify potential suppliers of construction materials, fixtures, equipment, and other goods and services required for real estate development.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, pricing, and reliability, considering factors such as quality, lead times, and sustainability.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
• Issue purchase orders and track deliveries, coordinating with project managers and site teams to ensure timely receipt of materials.
• Manage the procurement process for each project from requisition to delivery, adhering to project schedules and budgets.
• Cost Management and Budgeting:
• Contribute to project budgeting by providing accurate cost estimates for procured items.
• Monitor procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
• Track and report on procurement expenditures, providing regular updates to project managers.
• Supplier Relationship Management:
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers in the real estate and construction industry.
• Regularly evaluate supplier performance and identify potential areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Compliance and Reporting:
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations, including those specific to the real estate industry.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for each project.
• Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and inventory management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
• 2+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the construction or real estate industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Knowledge of procurement best practices and ethical sourcing.
• Familiarity with construction materials, building codes, and real estate development processes is highly desirable.
