Job Summary
The Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the initial phases of projects, with a strong focus on bidding, contractor evaluation and awarding, documentation, and early-stage project coordination. This role involves preparing and reviewing technical specifications, assisting in bid evaluations, coordinating with design teams and vendors, and ensuring that all project requirements are properly documented and aligned before construction and operation begin.The engineer will play a key role in bridging design intent with project execution readiness.
Duties and Responsibilities- Prepares bid documents, technical specifications, and scope of work for mechanical packages.
- Reviews contractor and vendor proposals, participates in bid evaluations, and supports the awarding process.
- Coordinates with procurement teams to align technical requirements with commercial and contractual considerations.
- Reviews and validates technical drawings, datasheets, and design submissions from contractors and suppliers.
- Prepares and maintains project documentation in compliance with regulatory, contractual, and quality standards.
- Coordinates with cross-discipline teams (civil, electrical, instrumentation) to ensure alignment of project requirements.
- Provides technical support during pre-construction activities, including permit applications, technical clarifications, and contractor mobilization.
- Assists in preparing project schedules, progress monitoring tools, and reporting formats for early project phases.
- Supports the smooth handover of awarded packages to construction teams for implementation.
- Graduate of Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in the first phases (Procurement, BOQ, Bidding and Awarding to contractors) is a must
- Experience as a Project Engineer is a must
- Experience in a Power plant/ EPC industry is a must
- Proficiency in CAD or other related tools
