Accounting supervisor

JOB PURPOSE :

The role requires strong expertise in double-checking and analyzing accounting entries, maintaining the integrity of financial records, supervising accounting processes, and ensuring that all financial activities comply with company policies, accounting standards, and government regulatory requirements.

The Accounting Supervisor shall also assist in compliance-related matters, including coordination with external accounting partners and government agencies. Knowledge or experience as a Compliance Officer is highly advantageous, particularly in monitoring regulatory requirements, audit preparation, and ensuring adherence to statutory obligations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Review, validate, and double-check accounting entries, journal entries, and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and proper account classification.
• Conduct and supervise actual inventory count activities (semi-annual or as required).
• Assist internal and external auditors during audit activities.
• Recommend improvements to strengthen accounting controls and prevent financial discrepancies.
• Responsible for reviewing, checking, and verifying the accuracy and completeness of the following: check vouchers and payment documents, journal vouchers and accounting adjustments, Sales invoices, statements of accounts, and customer billing documents, Creditable withholding tax certificates (BIR Form 2307), Final duties and taxes related to importations, Letters of Credit (LC) application documents, Trust Receipt applications, and shipping requirements, T/T application forms and other bank-related documents.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIRED SKILLS :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Management, Finance, or related field.
• With strong experience in accounting operations and supervisory roles.
• Excellent knowledge in accounting entries, reconciliation, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Strong ability to review, analyze, and detect errors in accounting transactions.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage an accounting team.
• Knowledge in BIR compliance, government reports, and statutory requirements.
• Experience or background as a Compliance Officer is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications.
