DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping

JOB SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure high standards of cleanliness, order, and appearance in all guest rooms, public areas, and staff areas. This role also includes inventory management, staff scheduling, training, and ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily housekeeping operations including room cleaning, public area maintenance, and laundry services.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to housekeeping staff and ensure timely and quality completion.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house to ensure cleanliness and standards are maintained.
  • Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities; manage inventory and place orders as needed to avoid shortages.
  • Maintain and update inventory records and housekeeping logs accurately.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff to ensure optimal performance and compliance with company standards.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for peak periods.
  • Report maintenance issues to the engineering or maintenance department and follow up on resolutions.
  • Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping with professionalism and ensure satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of chemicals and equipment.
  • Prepare and submit reports related to inventory, room status, lost & found, and departmental performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or in a similar role in hospitality.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of housekeeping standards, safety, and hygiene practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Physically fit and able to handle tasks requiring movement, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
