Data Engineer (SQL DBA) - Nezda Technologies

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases (on-premises and/or Azure SQL).
• Perform performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and capacity planning.
• Manage database security, backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes.
• Monitor database health and implement proactive maintenance and alerting.
• Perform database upgrades and patching.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Create and maintain data lake and data warehouse solutions using Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, or similar.
• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions to support data workflows.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from various sources into a centralized platform.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and governance are upheld throughout the pipeline.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to build interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Design data models and measures to support self-service analytics.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 4 years of experience in SQL Server DBA and data engineering roles.
• Expertise in T-SQL, performance tuning, and managing large databases.
• Proficiency with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse).
• Experience working with Databricks and Apache Spark for data processing.
• Working knowledge of Power BI for dashboard development and report automation.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing principles.
• Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or similar languages is a plus.
• Amenable to work 1-2 days Onsite in Taguig per week
• Amenable to shifting schedule
