Job Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all logistics activities related to construction projects. This includes the transportation, delivery, storage, inventory control, and distribution of construction materials, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient project execution while maintaining cost-effectiveness and compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Planning and Coordination- Develop and implement logistics plans to support construction project requirements.
- Coordinate the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies to project sites.
- Monitor logistics schedules and ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, warehouse personnel, and project teams.
- Oversee inventory levels and ensure adequate stock availability.
- Monitor receiving, storage, and issuance of materials and equipment.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of construction materials.
- Supervise transportation activities and vehicle utilization.
- Optimize delivery routes and schedules to reduce costs and delays.
- Monitor fleet performance, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
- Monitor logistics expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare logistics reports, forecasts, and budget recommendations.
- Evaluate supplier and transport service provider performance.
- Supervise and manage logistics staff, warehouse personnel, drivers, and coordinators.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and training.
- Ensure proper manpower allocation to support project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and government regulations.
- Implement procedures for the safe handling, storage, and transportation of materials.
- Investigate and report logistics-related incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics performance reports.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery timelines, inventory accuracy, and transportation costs.
- Provide management with updates on logistics operations and project support activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Logistics Supervisor or 5–8 years for a Logistics Manager position, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, warehousing, and transportation management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with inventory management and logistics systems is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
