Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing our critical network infrastructure, with a strong focus on data visibility, performance, and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of network technologies, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and proficiency with a range of specialized tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Riverbed Steelhead Management (Critical Skill):
• Design, deploy, configure, and manage Riverbed Steelhead appliances for WAN optimization, application acceleration, and network performance enhancement.
• Monitor and analyze network traffic using Riverbed SteelCentral suite (NetProfiler, AppResponse, etc.) to identify bottlenecks, optimize application delivery, and improve user experience.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance issues related to WAN optimization and application acceleration.
• Implement and fine-tune Riverbed policies for traffic shaping, quality of service (QoS), and data reduction.
• Stay updated with the latest Riverbed technologies and best practices.
• Cisco Routing and Switching:
• Design, implement, and maintain complex Cisco-based routing and switching solutions for LAN, WAN, and data center environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, Spanning Tree, EtherChannel).
• Ensure network security, stability, and scalability through proper configuration and adherence to best practices.
• Perform network assessments, capacity planning, and provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements.
• Network Monitoring and Analysis:
• Administer and configure SolarWinds for comprehensive network performance monitoring, fault management, and capacity planning.
• Utilize ThousandEyes for end-to-end visibility into network paths, internet health, cloud and SaaS application performance, and user digital experience.
• Deploy and manage Cloud Agents, Enterprise Agents, and Endpoint Agents for synthetic and real-user monitoring.
• Analyze ThousandEyes data to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, connectivity issues, and outages.
• Create custom tests, alerts, and dashboards to monitor critical services and network paths.
• Manage and leverage The Dude Dashboard (MikroTik) for network discovery, topology mapping, device monitoring, and alerts, particularly for MikroTik devices and smaller network segments.
• IT Service Management (SNOW):
• Utilize ServiceNow (SNOW) for incident management, problem management, change management, and request fulfillment related to network operations.
• Document network configurations, incidents, and resolutions within the SNOW platform.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT service delivery processes.
• General Network Responsibilities:
• Perform regular network maintenance, upgrades, and patching.
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical incident response.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., server, security, application development) to ensure seamless IT operations.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Conduct root cause analysis for network-related issues and implement preventative measures.
