About the Position:

The Manager of Accounting is responsible for leading the accounting team and overseeing a broad range of accounting operations, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and compliance. This role is accountable for ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance across all accounting activities, while proactively identifying and implementing process improvements.

This position follows a night shift schedule and operates under a remote work setup, with some days required on-site.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead daily accounting operations including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and related general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
  • Manage the full month-end and year-end close process, establishing timelines and resource needs to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Monitor and review all accounting activity across ledgers and systems to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze and review recurring financial data, supporting the preparation of reports, forecasts, and budgets; contribute insights to financial planning and performance discussions.
  • Evaluate and optimize team performance, workflows, and task execution in alignment with department objectives and company policies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to resolve accounting-related inquiries and influence efficient resolution strategies.
  • Lead preparation for external audits and ensure team readiness, accuracy of data, and timely response to audit requests.
  • Maintain and improve internal control systems related to revenue, expenses, and budget adherence.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and performance feedback to team members; develop and execute training plans to build capability and promote team growth.
  • Recommend updates to existing procedures and support the development of new accounting policies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Partner with senior leadership (e.g., Controller or VP of Finance) to align accounting practices with broader financial strategies and company initiatives.
  • Own complex financial matters such as disbursement exceptions, reimbursements, and escalated inquiries, ensuring resolution through sound judgment and adherence to policy.
  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes, identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, or better alignment with business needs.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • 5 years of experience in end-to-end accounting, treasury operations, and payroll.
  • Prior experience managing a team and overseeing accounting processes in a corporate or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and applicable tax regulations
  • Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (spreadsheets, pivot tables, formulas, charts).
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements and compliance obligations (PH and US) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the English language as required for effective performance of job duties.
  • Possess an overall knowledge of business functions and understanding of services, business strategy, policies and procedures, and job’s impact to the organization.
