QUALITY ENGINEER - TEST AUTOMATION
Pointwest is looking for a Quality Engineer (Junior to Mid-Level) to join our Healthcare and Retail Strategic Business Unit. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the absolute quality, security, and reliability of software products and services tailored for the healthcare and retail sectors.Your daily impact involves executing functional testing, supporting automation initiatives, analyzing defect data, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate brings experience with low-code/no-code automation frameworks, open-source testing tools, and a flexible, tool-agnostic approach to testing technologies (including performance tools like LoadRunner).

Key Responsibilities- Delighting Our Customers & Stakeholders
- User-Centric Validation: Execute meticulous functional, regression, and integration testing on healthcare and retail applications to ensure they meet strict client requirements and compliance standards.
- Defect Management: Identify, log, and track software defects using tools like JIRA or TestRail. Conduct root-cause defect analysis to prevent post-release issues, ensuring a seamless end-user experience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate actively with developers, business analysts, and client stakeholders during sprint planning and reviews to clarify requirements and advocate for the end-user

- Tool-Agnostic Automation: Support the design and maintenance of automated test scripts using low-code/no-code automation frameworks (e.g., Tosca, TestComplete, Katalon) as well as open-source tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO).
- Performance Evaluation: Assist in performance and load testing initiatives utilizing tools like LoadRunner to ensure application stability under peak retail or healthcare system loads.
- Process Enhancement: Proactively contribute to the refinement of QA templates, documentation standards, and testing methodologies to foster team agility and reduce waste.
- Developing Myself and Others
- Continuous Learning: Actively pursue technical training, domain knowledge in healthcare/retail trends, and QA certifications to expand your engineering capabilities. Knowledge Sharing: Provide foundational technical support and peer guidance on QA processes, helping onboard new team members and documenting best practices.
- Feedback Integration: Participate in peer reviews and retrospectives, demonstrating accountability and a commitment to continuous personal and professional refinement.
Key Metrics:
- Defect Leakage Rate: Percentage of bugs discovered post-release in production environments (Target: Minimal to Zero).
- Customer Satisfaction (CSAT): Client feedback scores regarding the quality, transparency, and thoroughness of testing deliverables.
- Test Coverage: Percentage of functional and business requirements validated through documented test cases.
- On-Time Milestone Delivery: Percentage of test execution cycles and deliverables completed within the agreed-upon project timelines.
- Resource and Asset Reusability: Percentage of regression test cases successfully migrated into automated scripts or reusable test beds.
- Test Automation ROI: Percentage increase in automation test coverage or reduction in manual regression testing hours.
- Defect Turnaround & Accuracy: Precision in defect logging (low rejection rates by development teams) and speed of verifying resolved bugs
- Process Compliance: Adherence to defined SBU testing standards, documentation guidelines, and security protocols.
- Skill & Certification Milestones: Completion of set professional development goals, internal training pathways, or external QA/Agile certifications annually.
- Contribution to Knowledge Base: Number of technical assets, standard operating procedures (SOPs), or brown-bag sessions contributed to the team repository.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
- Automation Experience: Proven experience working with low-code/no-code automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Tosca, TestComplete, Katalon).
- Open-Source Tools: Hands-on experience or familiarity with open-source testing tools and technologies (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO).
- Tool-Agnostic Mindset: Proven ability to quickly adapt to different testing tools, frameworks, and environments based on project needs (including exposure to performance testing tools like LoadRunner).
- Core QA Competencies: Strong foundational skills in QA methodologies, test case design, defect tracking, and lifecycle management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
