Site Engineer
SITE ENGINEER
You will be responsible for overseeing all engineering, equipment, and maintenance operations at the manufacturing site. This role ensures that all machinery, utilities, and infrastructure are maintained in optimal working condition to support efficient and continuous bakery production.The role includes leading the maintenance team, developing preventive maintenance programs, managing capital projects, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in line with company goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
SITE & EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE- Oversees the maintenance, repair, and optimization of bakery production equipment, ovens, mixers, conveyors, refrigeration units, and other plant utilities.
- Ensures machinery uptime and reliability through planned preventive maintenance schedules (PPM).
- Leads root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment breakdowns and failures.
- Develops, implements, and monitors maintenance KPIs.
- Provides engineering support for daily operations & new product or process introductions.
- Collaborates with production and quality teams to address technical challenges affecting product output or quality.
- Maintains and updates technical documentation (manuals, schematics, equipment specifications).
- Plans and manages site engineering projects including equipment installation, factory layout changes, upgrades, and facility expansion.
- Prepares technical specifications, budgets, and timelines for engineering projects.
- Coordinates with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders for successful project execution.
- Ensures full compliance with food safety (e.g., HACCP), environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Participates in safety audits and inspections; implement corrective measures as needed.
- Maintains safe working conditions for the engineering and maintenance teams.
- Leads, trains, and supervises a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.
- Develops skills within the team through coaching, mentoring, and technical training programs.
- Manages team schedules, workloads, and performance appraisals.
- Identifies and implement engineering improvements that enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and minimize energy or material waste.
- Promotes a culture of lean manufacturing and operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering (required).
- Postgraduate or professional certification in maintenance or project management is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in engineering or maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or bakery industry.
- Proven experience managing a technical team and implementing engineering projects.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Solid understanding of GMP, HACCP, and relevant health and safety regulations.
- Effective communication and team coordination skills
WORKING SCHEDULE:
Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
(may be requested to report as needed)
