What the role involves:
As the Director of Events & Travel at IOG, you are responsible for leading global corporate events and travel programs that align with business objectives and ensure seamless experiences for employees, stakeholders, and C-suite executives. This includes overseeing event logistics, vendor partnerships, budgeting, and travel management across North America, Asia, Europe, and Africa.The role manages a team of event strategists, travel managers, and hospitality specialists to deliver conferences, exhibitions, sponsorships, meetups, training courses, and related internal initiatives.
Acting as a strategic partner within Input Output Global (IOG), the Director ensures each event and travel initiative communicates the company’s brand leadership in blockchain and Web3 applications, driving engagement and highlighting IOG’s expanding portfolio of products and services.An ability to integrate creative vision, operational efficiency, and exceptional stakeholder coordination is critical to success in this position.
Annual Events Strategy & Planning- Develop and manage an annual global events calendar, covering internal and external events.
- Create a strategic event portfolio aligning with business priorities and market presence.
- Lead planning and execution of global conferences, summits, trade shows, and sponsorship activations.
- Design and deliver customer and partner engagement events (e.g., roundtables, showcases).
- Drive new ideas and experiential concepts to create engaging, high-touch events that leave a lasting impression. Think outside the box and logistics to deliver events that resonate with our audiences and generate buzz.
- Manage C-suite and executive engagement strategies for high-impact industry events.
Event Portfolio Strategy:
- Global Conferences & Summits: Planning and execution of major industry events where IOG has a presence.
- Customer & Partner Events: Development of exclusive forums, roundtables, or product showcases to drive relationship-building.
- C-Suite & Executive Engagements: Strategy for keynotes, panel discussions, and networking opportunities for executives.
- Trade Shows & Sponsorship Activations: Coordination of booth experiences, speaking opportunities, and sponsorships.
- Organize and execute leadership offsites, strategy workshops, and company-wide meetings.
- Design and support training events, development programs, and innovation labs.
- Define creative direction, themes, and branding for events.
- Develop audience engagement strategies, including digital, interactive, and hybrid components.
- Oversee technology and production planning (AR/VR, livestreaming, platforms).
- Lead post-event analysis and reporting on attendance, engagement, and business impact.
- Facilitate stakeholder debriefs to capture lessons learned and improvement areas.
- Assess ROI and align event outcomes with corporate objectives.
- Coordinate with marketing, communications, product, and leadership teams to align on strategy.
- Manage executive participation in events, including travel, logistics, and strategic briefings.
- Provide high-touch hospitality and on-site support for executives and VIPs.
- Oversee global corporate travel programs, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain updated travel policies, preferred supplier programs, and negotiated rates.
- Lead travel vendor RFPs, onboarding, and annual performance reviews.
- Develop contingency plans for travel disruptions, event security, and executive support to ensure smooth execution.
- Develop a roadmap for SAP Concur integration across the company, ensuring a seamless user experience and driving efficiencies and cost savings.
- Design and implement SAP Concur for travel booking, policy compliance, and expense management.
- Define user roles, permissions, approval workflows, and policy configurations.
Executive Travel and Hospitality:
- Manage executive travel logistics with white-glove service and high-touch hospitality, including the office of the CEO and President.
- Lead efforts to create warm, personalized experiences for event attendees, including VIPs, speakers, and key stakeholders. Serve as a dedicated point of contact for leadership on-site, proactively addressing needs and concerns.
- Use CRM, event technology, and analytics tools to optimize event experiences and decision-making.
- Lead continuous improvement of travel and event tools to ensure user satisfaction and cost efficiency.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with venues, agencies, production teams, and travel vendors.
- Monitor budgets, drive ROI, and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Develop contingency plans for travel disruptions, event risks, and crisis scenarios.

Requirements
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Events, Hospitality, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in global corporate events planning and travel management in the high-tech industry.
- Experience in the Web3 blockchain technology industry.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment, working across time zones with high attention to detail.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Experience with planning and travel management systems (SAP Concur, Jira, HubSpot) and reporting tools.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and C-suite leadership.
- Highly organized with an eye for detail and exemplary planning skills.
- Familiarity with government requirements, including security aspects of virtual events and platforms is a plus.
