Logistics Operations Specialist II
The Logistics Operations Specialist will oversee the end-to-end logistics lifecycle for our e-commerce platform. This role balances day-to-day logistics operations execution with strategic 3PL management. You will be responsible for ensuring that orders are processed, shipped, and delivered within SLAs while driving down logistics costs and maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Daily Operations & Fulfillment Management
- End-to-End Oversight: Monitor the daily flow of orders from platform purchase to last-mile delivery.
- Reverse Logistics: Establish, optimize, and oversee the returns and refund process to ensure rapid processing and minimal revenue loss.
- Issue Resolution: Act as the primary escalation point for delivery failures, lost packages, or damaged goods.
- 3PL & Partner Management
- SLA Enforcement: Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, couriers, and freight forwarders, ensuring strict adherence to contract KPIs.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct weekly and monthly performance reviews with logistics partners.
- Claims Processing & Cost Recovery: Manage the end-to-end claims process against 3PLs for lost in transit, damaged goods, and SLA breaches, ensuring maximum cost recovery and accurate vendor invoice auditing.
- Team Leadership & Supervision
- 3PL Leadership & Influence: Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities by actively managing, guiding, and holding external 3PL partners accountable to operational standards.
- Future Team Building: Currently an individual contributor role in an agile startup environment, with the expectation to build, mentor, and manage an internal logistics team as business needs evolve.
- Resource Planning: Coordinate with 3PLs and future internal teams to align capacities with platform sales cycles (e.g., mega-campaigns, double-day sales like 11.11 / 12.12).
- Data Analytics & Process Improvement
- KPI Tracking: Monitor, analyze, and report on key logistics metrics
- Systemic Problem Solving: Identify operational bottlenecks and solve complex logistics problems, translating these solutions into functional system configurations to be implemented within our logistics platforms.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
3 to 5 years of experience in logistics, transport operations, or supply chain management—ideally within an e-commerce environment. Experience in managing 3PL is required. e-commerce background a plus.
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets. Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms and standard TMS tools.
Soft Skills
Strong negotiation skills, data-driven problem-solving mindset, and the ability to thrive under pressure during peak high-volume sales periods.
