 I.  Job Summary

The Quality Control Specialist (In-Process and Final Goods Inspection) is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all in-process and finished products meet the required quality standards and specifications. This role involves overseeing inspection activities, developing and maintaining quality control systems, performing root cause analysis for quality issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to ensure product compliance, reduce defects, and maintain customer satisfaction.

II. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Performs job functions in alignment with the company's vision, mission, and core values to ensure quality initiatives support overall organizational goals.
  • Follows documented quality, environmental, and safety procedures and instructions to maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensures that all supplied raw materials, packaging materials, intermediate products, and tolled products meet PAI’s standard specifications before use in production.
  • Supports new product launches by verifying that supplier quality and materials meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective actions to address and prevent recurrence of production-related quality issues.
  • Assists the Quality Assurance Manager by monitoring supplier performance, gathering data, and preparing quality reports to track compliance and improvement.
  • Reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to management to ensure that processes remain in control and that non-conformities are identified and addressed promptly.
  • Develops and updates the quality control plan regularly to align inspection processes with current quality requirements and standards.
  • Participates in the analysis of quality issues and works with cross-functional teams to address customer complaints and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Supports Quality System activities by managing nonconforming materials, preparing documentation, and assisting with CAR (Corrective Action Request) and supplier corrective actions.
  • Participates in Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) to ensure that test methods and equipment produce accurate and reliable data.
  • Participates in FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) for new and existing products and processes to identify potential risks and develop preventive measures.
  • Recommends suitable materials, methods, or process adjustments to improve quality performance and prevent defects.
  • Supports the Non-conformance Reporting program by leading investigations, preparing dispositions, and coordinating communication with customers regarding quality issues.
  • Studies and recommends shelf-life extensions of materials and products based on inspection results, historical data, and performance evaluations.
  • Provides disposition for in-process materials and products, deciding whether to accept, reject, or rework them based on standard specifications.
  • Evaluates the quality of slow-moving stocks upon receipt of RFQIs to ensure they remain suitable for use before distribution or processing.
  • Strictly follows safety procedures and uses appropriate PPE, ensuring hazards are understood and managed before handling chemicals or materials.
  • Conducts performance appraisals, coaching, and counseling sessions to guide subordinates and improve their technical and quality competencies.
  • Support the Quality Control Specialist for the incoming inspection of Raw materials and packaging materials.
  • Undertakes assigned special projects to support quality improvement initiatives and operational objectives.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement activities by identifying areas for enhancement and proposing practical solutions.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support overall quality control functions.
  • Ensures that manufacturing processes follow the correct tools, materials, and procedures to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Develops, applies, and maintains quality requirements and standards to support effective product manufacturing.
  • Develops and updates quality control plans for assigned production lines to align with current standards and operational changes.
  • Ensures measuring instruments used for in-process and final inspections are properly maintained, calibrated, and functional to guarantee reliable inspection results
III. Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Graduate of B.S. Chemistry, B.S. Chemical Engineering or equivalent; preferably licensed
  • At least 6 months experience in the laboratory
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing set-up an advantage
  • Preferably with experience of working in quality assurance and/or supplier quality development
IV. Preferred Skills
  • With knowledge in the application and use of SPC, MSA, DOE, quality tools and other statistical tools.
  • Know-how in inspection and laboratory practices
  • Is a team player and can work well across different levels in the organization.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, influencing and team working skills, with pro-active and professional approach to work.
  • Good leadership and organizational skills with good attention to details
