Digital Asset Trader

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Trading Execution: Actively trade digital assets (e.g. Bitcoin) across exchanges and OTC markets to achieve optimal pricing, liquidity, and execution.
• Market Analysis:Monitor market trends, liquidity, volatility, and regulatory developments in the digital asset space to inform trading strategies and risk assessments.
• Risk Management:Implement robust risk controls, including position limits, stop-loss mechanisms, and hedging strategies, to mitigate market, credit, and operational risks.
• Portfolio Optimization: Manage and rebalance digital asset portfolios to align with the bank's goals, risk tolerance, and capital allocation policies.
• Compliance & Reporting:Ensure all trading activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements (e.g., AML, KYC), and industry standards; prepare accurate trade reports and performance metrics for senior management.
• Technology Utilization:Leverage trading platforms, blockchain analytics tools, and custody solutions to execute trades securely and efficiently.
• Collaboration:Work closely with risk management, compliance, and technology teams to enhance trading infrastructure and adapt to market or regulatory changes.
• Market Intelligence:Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on emerging opportunities, risks, and innovations in the digital asset ecosystem.

Qualifications:

• Must have an academic background in Applied Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative disciplines
• Must have a strong analytical skills to interpret market data, price movements, and technical indicators.
• Must have an excellent risk management and decision-making abilities under pressure.
• Must have a trading and portfolio management experience in FX and other treasury products
• Must have a strong background in numerical analysis, financial modeling, and projections
• Good to have deep understanding of blockchain technology, digital asset markets, and trading platforms and knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing digital assets
• Proficiency with trading software, APIs, and custody solutions (e.g., Fireblocks, Coinbase, Kraken)
• Attributes:Strategic thinker, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Tools/Software Preferred:

• Advanced Excel (including macros, pivot tables, and complex formulas)
• Python, R, or similar scripting languages for modeling and automation is a plus
• Power BI / Tableau (plus)
