ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST

Overview:

We are seeking a diligent and results-driven Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to manage and maintain accounts receivable balances from customers. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely payments, resolving billing issues, and supporting the organization’s overall cash flow by minimizing bad debt exposure.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and confident in customer communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue invoices.
  • Contact customers via phone, email, or mail to ensure timely payments.
  • Send follow-up notices for payment collection; escalate unresolved accounts as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues in collaboration with internal departments.
  • Record collection activities and maintain accurate, up-to-date customer account records.
  • Prepare and post adjustment entries for payment transfers or corrections (e.g., vehicle cancellations).
  • Reconcile customer account balances and perform month-end AR reconciliations.
  • Prepare and send key reports, including the Customer Credit Limit Ratio, AR Report, and Customer Assessment Report.
  • Recommend accounts for write-off or third-party collections as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable, collections, or similar finance roles is a plus.
  • Experience in cold calling is a plus.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with confidence and assertiveness.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
