Job Title: Driver/Delivery Staff

The individual will also assist with the handling, loading, and unloading of items, verifying delivery accuracy, and maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of delivery vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Stock Transfer and Delivery:

• Transport stock, supplies, and materials from the commissary or warehouse to restaurant locations based on a set delivery schedule.
• Handle the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring the safe transport and delivery of all items.
• Communicate with restaurant staff to confirm delivery completion and address any immediate concerns or discrepancies.

1. Vehicle Maintenance and Safety:

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle to ensure safety and roadworthiness.
• Schedule regular maintenance checks and promptly report any vehicle issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
• Adhere to all traffic and safety regulations during transportation.

1. Inventory and Documentation:

• Assist in the accurate documentation of stock transfers, including delivery receipts, inventory logs, and return slips.
• Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or missing items encountered during the delivery process.
• Assist in periodic inventory checks and stock-taking as required.

1. Customer Service and Communication:

• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with restaurant staff and other team members.
• Serve as the primary point of contact during deliveries, ensuring smooth coordination and addressing concerns promptly.
• Provide updates to the warehouse or commissary team regarding delivery status or unforeseen delays.

1. General Support:

• Assist in organizing and arranging stock in the warehouse or commissary as needed.
• Provide additional support during peak operational periods or emergencies, including packing and preparing items for delivery.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or similar role, preferably in food service or logistics.
• Ability to operate delivery vehicles (e.g., vans, trucks) safely and efficiently.
• Physical stamina to lift, move, and load items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with local roads, traffic regulations, and GPS navigation.
