Muntinlupa - Data Architect

Job Overview:

The role is on-site, with a 5x a week in-office requirement at our Ortigas location.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Modeling: Design and implement comprehensive data models for operational and analytical systems to support business processes and data-driven decision-making.
• Database Design: Architect and design scalable, high-performance databases to manage large datasets effectively while ensuring efficient storage and retrieval.
• Cloud Technologies: Leverage AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, Redshift, RDS, Glue, Lambda) to design and deploy cloud-based data architecture solutions that ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Data Security: Establish and enforce best practices for data security to protect sensitive information, ensure compliance with industry standards, and mitigate potential data risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and data architecture designs.
• Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity, availability, and consistency across various platforms.
• Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to manage data quality, accessibility, and usage across the organization.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior data engineers and other team members on data architecture best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in data architecture, database technologies, and cloud computing to recommend new tools or platforms as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in data architecture, database design, and cloud technologies.
• Expertise in data modeling techniques (e.g., ERD, dimensional modeling, normalization, etc.).
• Extensive experience in AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, Redshift, RDS, EC2, Lambda, Glue).
• Solid knowledge of data security best practices, including encryption, access control, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
• Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Proficiency in database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience in data governance and managing data lifecycles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and design robust data architecture solutions.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
• Certification in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional) is a plus.
• Experience in data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes.
