Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Mid-Level Quantity Surveyor with proficiency in Cubit software to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, particularly in managing project costs, preparing detailed bills of quantities, and contract administration.Experience in the construction industry and working knowledge of Australian construction standards is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Utilize Cubit software to prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities, ensuring all aspects of the project are accounted for.
- Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure project costs stay within financial limits.
- Tender Documentation: Prepare and issue tender documents, evaluate bids, and assist in selecting contractors and suppliers.
- Contract Administration: Manage contracts from start to finish, including negotiating terms, resolving disputes, and ensuring compliance.
- Valuation & Payments: Conduct interim valuations, ensure timely payments to contractors, and maintain detailed financial records of project progress.
- Cost Reporting: Provide regular financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting any variances between budgeted and actual costs.
- Risk Management: Identify potential cost-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to manage all financial aspects of projects.
- Construction Drawings: Read and interpret construction drawings for accurate cost calculations and projections.
- Final Accounts: Prepare and agree on final accounts with contractors and clients at project completion.
Qualification and requirements:
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record in construction projects.
- Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Cubit (Buildsoft) software is required.
- Education: Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of construction processes, techniques, and Australian construction standards.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in preparing estimates, bills of quantities, and financial documentation.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to assess data and make informed decisions to keep projects within budget.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and project teams.
Non-negotiable skills & requirements:
- Cubit experience
- Familiarity with commercial, residential, or interior fit-out projects.
