About the role
COPYLANDIA OFFICE SYSTEMS CORPORATION is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Officer to join our finance team in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our financial reporting and accounting operations.As Senior Accounting Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing critical financial accounting functions and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role is essential to supporting the financial health and strategic decision-making of the organisation.
Key responsibilities- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Manage the general ledger and ensure proper recording, classification, and reconciliation of all financial transactions
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, payment authorisation, and collection activities
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies or unusual transactions
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and schedules for management, auditors, and regulatory authorities
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax compliance documentation
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting procedures and best practices
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records and documentation in accordance with company policy and legal requirements
- Liaise with external auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification is highly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting in a professional accounting environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices including IFRS or local accounting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems; experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is advantageous
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop team members effectively
- Knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulatory requirements is preferred
- Integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information
