Fraud Investigation Analyst
Role Overview
We are looking for a Fraud Monitoring Analyst to join our team and serve as a key line of defense in detecting and preventing fraudulent activities. In this role, you will actively monitor transactions, identify suspicious behavior, and take immediate action to protect our customers.
You will be responsible for real-time fraud monitoring, investigation of alerts, dispute resolution, and support for Account Takeover (ATO) cases. Your ability to assess risk, make sound decisions, and escalate concerns promptly will be critical in minimizing potential fraud exposure.
This position involves working independently, including during off-hours or weekend shifts, while strictly following established risk controls, escalation procedures, and governance standards. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a high level of accountability.
Core Qualifications:
- With 1–2 years of experience in fraud, risk, or investigations, preferably in:
- Transaction monitoring
- Payments or card services
- Dispute or case management
- Account Takeover (ATO) investigations
- At least 1 year of experience in an operations or monitoring environment, handling real-time dashboards, alerts, or queue-based workflows
- Minimum 2 years of experience working independently, demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making within established guidelines and controls
Preferred Background:
- Experience in financial services, payments, or fraud/consumer risk operations
- Comfortable working in a 24/7 or shifting schedule environment
- Familiar with escalation processes, SLAs, and documentation standards in regulated industries
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify unusual patterns, trends, and anomalies
- High attention to detail with strong documentation discipline
- Sound risk judgment, including knowing when to take action and when to escalate
- Comfortable working with:
- Monitoring dashboards and alerting tools
- Case management and dispute resolution workflows
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly for:
- Investigation summaries
- Trend analysis and reporting
- Executive or leadership updates
- Monitor real-time dashboards to identify suspicious activity and potential fraud indicators
- Investigate alerts and assess the legitimacy of transactions
- Conduct thorough transaction dispute investigations
- Handle Account Takeover (ATO) cases, ensuring clear documentation for handoff and escalation
- Escalate potential fraud risks promptly to Fraud Leadership
- Prepare regular monitoring summaries, trend reports, and key risk call-outs
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and audit-ready documentation for all investigations
