Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the early phases of power plant and electrical infrastructure projects, with a focus on documentation, design, and project initiation before operations. This role involves preparing technical documents, reviewing electrical designs, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring that project requirements are met during planning, procurement, and pre-commissioning stages.The engineer will play a key role in facilitating smooth project handover to operations while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities- Prepares, reviews, and manages project documentation, including electrical design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Supports project planning and scheduling for electrical works in coordination with project managers and contractors.
- Assists in developing and reviewing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system layouts before implementation.
- Coordinates procurement activities, including technical evaluation of equipment and supplier documentation.
- Participates in project kick-off meetings, site inspections, and pre-commissioning activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborates with mechanical, civil, and operations teams during project handover to ensure readiness for commissioning and operations.
- Ensures adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and project quality requirements throughout the documentation and start-up phases.
- Graduate of Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience as a Project Engineer is a must
- Experience in a Power plant is a must
- Proficiency in CAD or other related tools
