Job Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and strengthening the financial health, controls, compliance, and funding operations of the Security Group of Companies. The role ensures financial accuracy, proper cash flow management, operational funding readiness, and compliance with internal controls while supporting strategic growth and profitability.
The Finance Manager leads budgeting, audits, payroll and billing accuracy reviews, investments, payables management, and employee financial obligations including last pay and statutory leave payments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee daily financial operations of the group of companies.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and targets.
- Recommend financial strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Disbursement Management
- Review, approve, and monitor all company disbursements.
- Ensure all disbursements are properly authorized, documented, and aligned with approved budgets.
- Strengthen controls against unauthorized or duplicate payments.
- Monitor cash outflows and payment schedules.
- Payroll Accuracy Audit
- Conduct payroll audits to ensure:
- Salary accuracy
- Overtime correctness
- Allowances, deductions, and government contributions accuracy
- Proper payroll documentation and approvals
- Identify payroll discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Billing Accuracy Audit
- Audit client billings to ensure:
- Correct rates and contract terms applied
- Accurate headcount/manpower billing
- Correct overtime, adjustments, and special charges
- Coordinate with Operations, Billing, and HR to resolve discrepancies.
- Audit Findings and Internal Controls
- Lead review and resolution of internal and external audit findings.
- Develop and improve financial internal controls and compliance systems.
- Monitor recurring financial issues and implement preventive measures.
- Present audit findings and corrective action plans to management.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead annual budgeting and financial planning process.
- Monitor departmental budget utilization and variances.
- Provide rolling forecasts for revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
- Support department heads in budget preparation and financial discipline.
- Funding & Cash Flow Management
- Ensure sufficient operational funding for payroll, statutory obligations, suppliers, and operations.
- Manage working capital and cash flow forecasting.
- Coordinate funding requirements across multiple business units and branches.
- Recommend financing strategies where needed.
- Investment Management
- Monitor and recommend short-term and long-term investment opportunities for excess company funds.
- Evaluate investment risk, liquidity requirements, and returns.
- Ensure investments align with company financial policies and strategic goals.
- Accounts Payable Management
- Oversee Accounts Payable process including:
- Supplier/vendor payments
- Due date monitoring
- Payment prioritization
- Vendor reconciliation
- Ensure liabilities are properly recorded and settled on time.
- Employee Final Pay and Leave Obligations
- Oversee accurate processing of:
- Last pay / final pay
- Service Incentive Leave (SIL) conversion and payments
- Separation pay, if applicable
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
- Coordinate with HR and Payroll for proper employee clearance and settlement.
- Lead and develop Finance team members.
- Establish KPIs and performance standards for finance personnel.
- Drive accountability, accuracy, and financial discipline across departments.
- Partner closely with HR, Operations, Billing, Payroll, and Executive Leadership.
Qualifications
Education- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
- CPA preferred
- MBA or Master’s Degree is an advantage
- Minimum 5–8 years finance/accounting experience
- At least 3–5 years in managerial capacity
- Experience in security agency, manpower, outsourcing, payroll-heavy, or multi-entity business highly preferred
