About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced US Tax Specialist to support tax compliance, reporting, documentation, and filing activities for a U.S.-based client. This role will assist with federal, state, and local tax requirements, including indirect tax, informational filings, tax records maintenance, reconciliations, and audit support.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with U.S. tax processes, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely tax-related deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and review of U.S. tax filings and supporting schedules.
  • Support federal, state, and local tax compliance requirements.
  • Prepare or assist with indirect and informational filings, such as sales tax, gross receipts tax, excise tax, 1099, and other applicable filings.
  • Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and trackers.
  • Reconcile tax-related accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist with tax provision, estimated tax payments, and related reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal finance, accounting, and operations teams to gather required tax data.
  • Respond to tax-related inquiries and assist with notices from tax authorities.
  • Support audit requests by preparing documentation and schedules.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure tax filings and payments are completed on time.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive financial and tax information.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in tax, accounting, or finance, preferably supporting U.S.-based clients.
  • Experience with U.S. tax compliance, indirect tax, sales tax, 1099 filings, or related tax processes is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax documentation requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Sage, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Comfortable working remotely and following U.S. time zone schedules.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with U.S.-based companies or international clients.
  • Familiarity with state and local tax requirements.
  • Experience handling tax notices, reconciliations, and audit support.
  • Background in bookkeeping, general accounting, AR/AP, or GL support is an advantage.
