JOB SUMMARY

The Facilities Engineering Management Assistant Manager supports the Facilities Engineering Management Manager in planning and executing facility-related projects, ranging from renovations to new construction, across all project phases: initiation, planning, design, implementation, and close-out.

The role requires technical proficiency, leadership, and cross functional coordination to ensure projects and maintenance activities are delivered on time and with the highest possible quality of work.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop conceptual plan and budget for facilities projects to support fiscal decision-making.
  • Coordinate across departments for facility planning, budgeting and scheduling.
  • Develop planning documents for initiation of projects for approval.
  • Prepare requests for proposals and conduct all necessary meetings to facilitate hiring architectural and construction management services.
  • Monitor and report on all phases of planning and construction.
  • Coordinate all parties involved in the planning, design, and construction process.
  • Develop and maintain the facility project budget.
  • Coordinates with superiors to develop recommendation for selection of professional services.
  • Conduct pre-construction conference, review bids, and recommend award of contract.
  • Prepare contract change order and monitor their execution.
  • Review contract plans and specifications for compliance with appropriate building codes and project requirements.
  • Receive pay request from professional consultants and contractors and approves for payment.
  • Monitor and facilitate resolution of construction contract disputes and claims.
  • Coordinates with facility occupants move-in to new facilities.
  • Monitor construction contract close-out and maintain documentation files.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a medium to large-scale facility management setting
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills (knowledge of other dialects and languages is a plus)
  • Good PC operational skills and knowledge in office applications (GSuite, MS Office)
