Job Summary:
The Project Acquisition and Bidding Officer is responsible for identifying, securing, and converting construction project opportunities for the company. The role focuses on sourcing leads, preparing and submitting competitive bids, coordinating with technical teams, and ensuring successful acquisition of new projects through both public and private bidding processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Acquisition / Lead Generation
- Identifies potential construction projects from government, private clients, and industry networks
- Monitors bidding announcements, project postings, and market opportunities
- Develops and maintains relationships with clients, consultants, and project owners
- Bidding and Proposal Preparation
- Prepares bid documents, quotations, and technical/financial proposals
- Coordinates with engineering, estimating, and procurement teams for bid requirements
- Ensures accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of all bid packages
- Reviews tender documents and identifies key project requirements and risks
- Client Coordination and Representation
- Attends pre-bid meetings, site inspections, and clarifications as required
- Communicates with clients regarding project requirements and bid concerns
- Represents the company in discussions related to bidding and project awarding
- Contract Support and Project Turnover
- Assists in reviewing awarded contracts prior to endorsement to operations
- Coordinates contract signing and compliance of pre-project requirements
- Ensures smooth turnover of awarded projects to project execution teams
- Market Monitoring and Reporting
- Tracks bid submissions, results (win/loss), and project pipeline status
- Monitors competitor activity, pricing trends, and industry developments
- Prepares regular reports on bidding performance and acquisition targets
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
- Experience in construction bidding, estimating, or project acquisition is an advantage
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Knowledge of construction processes, costing, and tendering procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for costing and bid tracking
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven
